 Join us for an evening of contemplation\, candlelighting\, and the practic
 es of Presence\, Grace\, Peace\, and Hope as we slow down from holiday bus
 y-ness and press pause on anxious times. This service will also be live-st
 reamed on Facebook and YouTube.\nA small holiday reception with cider and 
 cookies will be held following the service in the Fellowship Hall. This wo

 ncient Christian tradition of Evening Prayer\, consisting of psalms\, hymn
 s\, chants\, prayers\, and readings from the scriptures. Today\, many diff
 erent spiritual communities have embraced vespers and will often include c
 ontemporary innovations such as congregational singing\, readings from a v
 ariety of texts\, poetry\, silent meditation\, or contemplation. With Jazz
  Vespers\, an ethos of freedom and conscious choice provides a spiritual o
 pportunity to hold improvisation as a metaphor for what it means to live i
