"Ceremony brings us closer to those things that we need to appreciate, that give us life."
-- Robin Jones of Seneca First Nation: Water Protector & Standing Rock Activist
Eno River CUUPS warmly invites you to an in-person, family-friendly celebration honoring Spring Equinox and Ostara, and sharing our gratitude and farewells with the five Tree-Beings that are being removed from behind the CARE Building. Everyone is welcomed!
This is a sacred time on the Great Wheel of the Year with equal day and night for all Earth's Children. At this moment of Balance, we will explore different kinds of balance, both inside us and in the world around us. Cathy Kielar will facilitate a Rhythm Circle for everyone with a participatory rhythm procession ceremony on a nearby accessible walkway to connect us with letting the voice of Embodied Balance be heard by us and through us. The Ostara (and Easter!) season following Equinox is named for Eostre, the Teutonic Goddess of Spring and Dawn. She is still celebrated in parts of eastern Europe with gifts of red-dyed eggs left with love on the doorsteps of friends and family. Come see what Ostara blessings will accompany our celebration!
This gathering is open to children of all ages; those age 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or an adult companion. Face masks are required for everyone age 2 and older. We will be masked at all times and will maintain social distance at all times per ERUUF guidelines.
Bring your own handheld percussion instrument for the rhythm procession; some loaners will be provided. Please bring your own lawn chair!
