Jazz for the Holidays Vespers
Rev. Jacqueline Brett, Lead Minister at ERUUF will lead this annual evening service, featuring jazz vocalist Myk’l Hanna and friends.
Join us for an evening of contemplation, candlelighting, and the practices of Presence, Grace, Peace, and Hope as we slow down from holiday busy-ness and press pause on anxious times. This service will also be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
A small holiday reception with cider and cookies will be held following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
This worship event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome.

What is “Vespers”?
Vespers is an ancient Christian tradition of Evening Prayer, consisting of psalms, hymns, chants, prayers, and readings from the scriptures. Today, many different spiritual communities have embraced vespers and will often include contemporary innovations such as congregational singing, readings from a variety of texts, poetry, silent meditation, or contemplation. With Jazz Vespers, an ethos of freedom and conscious choice provides a spiritual opportunity to hold improvisation as a metaphor for what it means to live in community.
