UU Justice NC's Friday Action Hour - Friday, August 7th at 11:00am - Fighting ICE Detention Centers in NC. This week, we will be joined by Karen Ziegler and Mary Ross from Democracy Out Loud. They will brief us on the new ICE detention center in Winton, NC and the ongoing fight against ICE raids occurring across our state. Then, we will take action calling on key state officials to demand transparency and access to ICE facilities in the state.ve to roll our this year's opportunities to engage in election protection work. This week we'll be joined by Rebecca Cerese, Director of the NC Justice Center's Health Advocacy Team. She will share a big win for children and pregnant women in NC and call on us to keep fighting for additional technical fixes to the Medicaid funding bill HB 696. We will also share some important updates on James Richardson. And we'll announce the grand total of our Farm Worker Hydration Fundraiser!

UU Justice NC's Friday Action Hour - Friday, July 10th at 11:00am - What's Going On With Duke Energy? This week, Russ Outcalt from the UU Fellowship of Raleigh will teach us about the threat of Duke Energy to our state's climate future, including the 2026 Carbon Plan & Integrated Resource Plan, Duke's pause on solar power installation, and SB 730 “The Ratepayer Protection Act.” Then, we will take action writing public comments to the NC Utilities Commission and emails to Gov. Stein.

"Politicians in the legislature are attempting to ram through NC House Bill 958, a 36-page omnibus bill packed with new voter restrictions and election changes – just months before North Carolinians begin voting!" - Common Cause NC.
