UU Justice NC February 13, 2026
UU Justice NC's Friday Action Hour with special guest Emma’s Revolution! Friday, February 13th at 11:00amET. Join UU Justice NC this Friday as we close out our National UU Weeks of Action. Together, we will call key members of congress on the final day before the DHS funding deadline to tell them - No ICE in our communities! No ICE in our budget! We will not let our tax dollars be used to fund the violent and unlawful actions against our people. And Emma’s Revolution will perform their brand new song, “No ICE!”

Latin American Migration Action Team continues work with Cristosal
After the tremendously successful Immigration Justice Weekend, held in November 2025, ERUUF’s Latin America Migration Action Team has continued to be in community with Cristosal, human rights defenders based in Central America. If you were moved by the stories told by Rene Valiente and Tarrah Palm, you may be interested in continuing your learning. There are three near-term opportunities for you:
- On February 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm, Cristosal will host a Field Notes conversation, “An Update on the Authoritarian Playbook,” featuring historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat. Register here.
- February 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm, Critsosal and the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) will be co-hosting a webinar, “Confronting Authoritarianism and Human Rights in Central America.” This will feature human rights defender Rene Valiente and academic expert Ligia Bolivar. - Cristosal and UUSC developed a policy brief, “Protecting Due Process in Immigration, Ending Unlawful Deportation.” Read it here.

UU Justice NC February 6, 2026
On Friday, February 6th at 11:00am ET, UU Justice NC will close out the ICE Out! National UU Week of Action at our weekly Friday Action Hour! We will write letters to the editor demanding that ICE leave our communities and end their violent, immoral actions. Together, we can send a loud and clear moral message in Sunday papers in NC and across the country.

Showing Up for Democracy Action Team
The voter registration deadline for NC to vote in the March Primaries is Friday, Feb. 6. In Durham Co., find your voter info at https://www.dcovotes.dconc.
The You Can Vote website: https://www.youcanvote.org/ has information on registering at any Early Voting Site February 12-18 or on March 3 from 6:30-7:30 pm at your assigned polling place for the Primary Election. Friday, January 16th at 11:00am. This week we will be joined by our friends from the North Carolina Budget & Tax Center. They will brief us on the Love NC, Fund NC Campaign and the work ahead in 2026 to pressure the NC General Assembly to pass a state budget that funds Medicaid, Education and more.

Friday, January 9th at 11:00am. This week, we'll continue our work with the national campaign pressuring Avelo Airlines to end their $150 million contract with ICE to operate deportation flights. We will also call on our congressional delegation to condemn the Trump Administration's military strikes against Venezuela.

Friday, December 12th at 11:00am. National Avelo Airlines Action Hour. This Friday, we will partner up with UUA Side with Love and the National Coalition to Stop Avelo for a special national Action Hour. UUs and friends from across the country will join us to pressure Avelo Airlines to end their $150 million contract with ICE to operate deportation flights.

Friday, December 19th at 11:00am - North Carolina Coalition for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. Noel Nickle, will join us to talk about the impacts of the harmful crime bill HB 307 that was signed into law this fall, and opened the door to new execution methods in NC including electrocutions and firing squads.
Friday, December 26th at 11:00 am - End of Year Reflection with Friday Action Hour. On the day after Christmas, Kaleb Graves will lead our beloved community in an end of year reflection rooted in our shared values. What a year it has been... Let's talk about it.

Friday, November 18th at 11:00 - From Mental Health to Immigration - All of our Struggles are Connected in NC. This week, Kaleb Graves will lead us in a deep look into the dire need for mental health services in our state and how it's connected to ICE & Border Patrol presence in Charlotte and the Triangle this week. Join us is taking action, calling for Mental Health funding through emails and phone calls to our elected officials.
