Samhain / El Día De Los Muertos Celebration
You are warmly invited to join us in the annual celebration of El Día De Los Muertos.
This holiday occurs every year during the 3-day sacred season of Samhain, the Cross Quarter exactly halfway between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. We'll gather outdoors on Sunday 1-Nov at 6pm. Please mark your calendars!
Samhain is the time on the Great Wheel of the Year when the veil between the worlds is believed to be thin, when the door to the next world is open wide. All over Mother Earth, people celebrate their ancestors at this time with ofrendas ("offering-altars"). We will celebrate too, honoring all those on the other side who we revere and cherish. We'll welcome them into our circle, letting them know they are remembered and still loved.
If you wish, please bring pictures, mementos, and/or symbols of the dear ones you wish to honor, including four-legged beloveds who have passed to the other side to place on our ofrenda. Please plan to bring a dish to share; gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian dishes are particularly welcomed. Bring your own beverage.
This is a participatory gathering open to all those ages 16 and older, and to children ages 15 and younger who are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult companion.
