Following a charge from the ERUUF Board of Trustees last summer, the Music Director Search Team began the process of searching for a new Music Director for our Fellowship.
Our preparation for this important work included participating in training to recognize and avoid unconscious bias. We continued with collaborative development of a position description, and development and implementation of a strategy to reach a diverse pool of qualified individuals.
The application period closed on February 4, and the Team performed an intensive and careful assessment of resumes, performance videos, and reference letters for 22 applicants.
We are pleased to report that we have identified the candidates who best fit the values and characteristics defined for our Music Director, and selected the final candidates to interview for the position.
The Team is poised to conduct candidate interviews and intensive reference checks via Zoom later this month through early March. Once we have engaged in deliberation and evaluation of the interview answers and references, the Team will make a recommendation to the Lead Minister in accordance with our charge from the Board of Trustees.
The final step in the process will be a site visit and interview with Reverends Cayer and Brett, ending with a final decision by Reverend Brett. We are currently on target to meet our goal of announcing our new Music Director by March 31.
