Sad Garden News: The large Japanese maple beside the Care Building has declined and is largely dead. This maple was planted in the mid 1990's in honor of RE Director, Anne Barton Robinson. We want to acknowledge this dedication as we make plans to remove and replace the tree.
The area of the flower bed next to the Japanese Garden will be reworked and a new tree planted in the Fall.
The Ministries and Faith Development Staff Group is proud to announce the 2024 Service of the Living Tradition (SLT) preacher Rev. Jacqueline Brett. Additionally, we are thrilled to have the uplifting talents of Soren Austenfeld as SLT music director. This historic worship service honors those who have died, recognizes those who have completed professional service, and welcomes those who have received fellowship, credentialed, or certified status in the past year.
The Service of the Living Tradition will stream on the GA App on
Friday, June 21 at 6:30pm ET / 5:30pm CT / 4:30 MT / 3:30 PT.
While registration for GA is needed to view the full SLT service on June 21, we will provide the recording of Rev. Brett's sermon at ERUUF's service on Sunday morning, July 21.
Important Communications Update
Have you ever noticed how full E-News seems to be at times? That's the plus side of a large congregation full of programs and possibilities. Starting in May, we will be adopting a “less is more” strategy to increase readability and engagement.
This means that each E-news article will look much shorter while the full content will reside on the website. The goal is to provide a more visually engaging newsletter for the many activities at ERUUF.
In addition, we have added a monitor in the Sanctuary gallery area to display key events on Sunday mornings. This new technology is made possible by a grant for the Eno River Fellowship Foundation.
If you have a background in public relations and communications and would like to help in our ongoing efforts to make ERUUF communications more effective, please contact Rev. Daniel Trollinger.
We are pleased to announce that beginning May 1, ERUUF's new Director of Membership Development will be Michael Gilbert-Singletary.
If Michael seems familiar, it's because they have been a member of the office/tech staff. However, it did not take long for it to be easily recognized that Michael’s skills, capacities, initiative, and professionalism far exceeded the role for which they had been originally hired.
After applying for the position and undergoing several rigorous rounds of interviews with lay leaders and ministers, everyone who met with them could readily see that Michael was well-suited for the position and were unanimous that they be offered the role.
Michael brings experience in member relations for major non-profit organizations, excellent written and verbal communication skills, media relations capacities, as well as a strong background in event planning – a key aspect of the membership role.
Please join us in congratulating Michael and offering your support as they transition to their new responsibilities.
