In the spring of 2020 over 50 ERUUFians planned to go on a pilgrimage to visit significant Civil Rights museums and sites in Montgomery AL. And, as we know, Covid-19 happened, but we're glad to report that it's a go for 2023. As expected, some of the original people are unable to make the trip so there's space for others to join us. We'll depart ERUUF on Monday, April 10 and return on Saturday, April 15.
Traveling to and from Montgomery takes a full day, leaving four full days to visit 10 historical sites and museums. Some of the sites included are the National Memorial for Peace and Justice (informally known as the National Lynching Memorial, a national memorial to commemorate the black victims of lynching), the Voting Rights Museum, and the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The total cost of $1,170 includes all transportation, lodging, meals and admission to all sites (some scholarship funds are available).
