Justice Sunday

From the Earth and the Universe we come.
To the Earth and the Universe we return.
On this Sunday we honor our ancestors in ritual and candle lighting. All are encouraged to bring a photograph or small object of remembrance as together we construct a community altar to honor ancestors we call forward from memory.

In troubled times it’s easy to forget that we’re part of the natural world, that in fact we’re held within a larger natural web of all there is.  What happens when we intentionally remember?

Rev. Deborah Cayer served ERUUF from 2008 to 2022. She currently divides her time between Durham and New England. She keeps busy with extended family, travel, deep listening, and messy, undisciplined art projects.

Annual Ingathering
Worship Leader: Rev. Jacqueline Brett
Music: Beloved Community Chorus; Eno River Singers; Kate Lewis – Pianist; Wendy – Music Director

We celebrate the beginning of a new program year with a multi-generational service  during which we'll pour libations, reconnect with one another, hear the choirs, and celebrate through a ritual that marks the gathering of the waters of our lives into beloved community. It is customary to bring a small jar of water from a place you may have visited this summer or even from your home tap.
